CHARLOTTE, N.C. — A man accused of stealing two car tires and leaving behind a stolen house agent’s vehicle on the outskirts of Charlotte was arrested Wednesday.
Police said 19-year-old Anthony Johnson is facing felony charges of grand theft auto, grand theft by deception and unauthorized possession of stolen property.
Police say Johnson, who was released from jail Wednesday, was charged after the agent noticed the stolen house agents vehicle parked at the corner of South Carolina Street and Charlotte Avenue.
The agent contacted Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, who responded and found Johnson had fled the area.
Police said the vehicle had been reported stolen in Mecklenberg.
Authorities say Johnson has been charged with grand theft and unauthorized use of a vehicle and that he faces charges in North Carolina.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Meeklenberg District Court.
